The New Haven Township Board met on September 14, 2009 at the New Haven Township Hall.  The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Dickinson at 7:00 p.m. with the pledge to the flag. 
 

A roll call was taken, members present, Supervisor Dickinson, Clerk Owen, Treasurer Eickholt, Trustee LeCureux and Trustee Foster. 
 

Guests, Harold Buck Kuisel candidate for the 85^th District for State Representative, Deputy Paul Richardson, Dan Winters, and Fred Gray.

 

Motion was made by Clerk Owen, supported by Trustee Foster to approve the agenda with corrections to New Business, Supervisor, add payment to Sumbera Evcavating Inc. and Eickholt Seed Company.

All Ayes.

Motion Carried. 
 

Motion was made by Trustee Foster, supported by Trustee LeCureux, to approve the minutes from August 3, 2009.

All Ayes.

Treasurer Eickholt gave the following report; General Fund  $ 99,711.82, 2-Mill Road Account $ 26,759.38 Township Investment Account $116,031.17, Perpetual Care $ 33,859.38, Revolving Improvement Account (H) $ 9,607.00, Fire Account $ 131.67, Ambulance Account $ 15.16 and Tax Checking Account $ 349.39. 
 

Motion by Clerk Owen, supported by Trustee LeCureux to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented.

All Ayes.

Motion Carried. 
 

Deputy Richardson indicated that the township should be receiving e-mails with activities within the township and would look into the status of our reports. 
 

It was noted that a Chesaning School Board Meeting would be held on September 21, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at Albee School. 
 

Clerk Owen reported that two letters have been sent to the township resident responsible for damages that occurred at the township hall during a rental.  As of this date there has not been a response. 
 

Motion by Clerk Owen, supported by Trustee LeCureux to proceed with the filing of the necessary papers with District Court for collection of the damage incurred during the rental of the township hall.

Motion by Trustee LeCureux, supported by Treasurer Eickholt to authorize an additional fifteen hours at $10.00 per hour for cemetery indexing.

Motion by Trustee Foster, supported by Trustee LeCureux to authorize payment to the Shiawassee County Road Commission in the amount of $ 8,137.50 for the Brine Application.

Motion by Trustee LeCureux, supported by Trustee Foster to authorize payment to the Shiawassee County Road Commission in the amount of $ 85,942.93 for the application of gravel.

A roll call vote was taken.

It was unanimously approved.

Motion by Trustee Foster, supported by Trustee LeCureux to grant Supervisor Dickinson the authority to send correspondence on behalf of the New Haven Township Board for cease and desist regarding cemetery issues.

Motion by Clerk Owen, supported by Trustee LeCureux to authorize payment in the amount of   $ 285.00 to Sumbera Excavating Inc. for grading and leveling property at the township hall.

Motion by Clerk Owen, supported by Trustee Foster to authorize payment in the amount of        $ 50.00 to Eickholt Seed Company for a weed control application at the township hall.

A roll call vote was taken.

It was unanimously approved.

Motion by Treasurer Eickholt, supported by Trustee Foster to authorize the estimated payment in the amount of $ 265.00 to Crystal Kleen Carpet Cleaning Company for a carpet cleaning at the township hall.

Motion by Clerk Owen, seconded by Trustee Foster to authorize the mileage payment to Sexton Felker in the amount of $ 99.00.
